THE
IMPACTS OF GLOBALIZATION
Globalization
is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies and
governments of different nations. A process driven by international trade and
investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on
their environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development
and prosperity and on human physical well-being in societies around the world.
Nowadays,
the world is already globalized. A long time ago, people use to write a letter
to communicate the other people and must to send it to the post office and it
needs so much time to wait for the reply. But now because almost partly of
people already have a cellphones and it makes people can easily communicate
each other without write a letters anymore.
Not only
that. We have the internet, which makes everything become so much easier for
people to do everything, for their job, their hobby or another activity. There
are so many benefits we can get from the internet. The positives one is we got
the information that we didn’t know and that we want to know about anything.
The negative one is so many crime that people do with internet. So we must be
careful.
As a communication student, it helps me
so much to get any information, anything, from any resources. I still can
communicate with my old friends without any problem and got the new friends
from cyberspace simultaneously, I can easily talk to them without seeing them. It’s
called social media, used by everyone, especially teenager. There’s many kind
of social media that people use, such as Instagram, Line, Whatsapp, Snapchat,
Askfm, etc. Because it becomes so easy, we can meet any strangers that we won’t
to meet even it just on cyberspace. Luckily if we just meet the good strangers
Before this era, when I was in
elementary school I don’t have a cellphones. Because it’s not my needs, even I
really want it. The price is too expensive and it’s so rare too. But now, when
I was in college and my little sister was in elementary school. We both have a
cellphones. This is crazy. Nowadays, cellphones is everyone needs although a
young teen. It’s abused by a young teen. A rich one can easily buy a cellphone
that he or she want, but the poor one not as easy as the rich one to buy a
cellphone even if the price is cheap.
Too lazy to went out for shopping? Don’t
worry, we can shop by online. There are so many online shops, so we still can
shop even we’re not in mall or market. I have so much fun with this. And I
think I enjoy the online shop than shopping at mall. But besides that, some
online shop have a bad trick to deceive the customers. So, be careful guys,
don’t trust people easily.
People nowadays become so modern and western,
especially a teenager. Everything seen so realistic and people won’t become an
outdated, so they will follow every single thing that makes them look like a
western people. It’s all about the trend that makes people, especially
Indonesian teenagers, forget about their tradition.
Globalization can be in positive as well
as negative ways. Many benefits that we get from globalization, but make sure,
that globalization have the negative impacts too. Everyone have to choose
carefully because it’s really important to balance between the positives and
negatives.
